Shockwave Testimonials

Danced At My Daughter’s Wedding

I cannot recommend June Tait at Scarborough Physical Therapy highly enough. After struggling with frozen shoulder, June provided exceptional care through focal and radial shockwave therapy that made an incredible difference in my recovery. She worked seamlessly alongside Dr. Alison Lee at Leeward Health, who administered two PRP injections as part of my treatment plan.

June’s expertise, compassion, and dedication to my healing were evident at every appointment. She took the time to explain each treatment, adjusted her approach based on my progress, and genuinely cared about my goals. The combination of her skilled shockwave therapy and the PRP injections proved to be exactly what I needed.

Thanks to June’s treatment, I was able to dance at my daughter’s wedding and hug my relatives completely pain-free—moments I had worried I might not be able to fully enjoy. These milestones meant the world to me, and I’m so grateful to June for helping me get there.

If you’re dealing with frozen shoulder or similar issues, I wholeheartedly recommend seeing June Tait. She’s not just an excellent physical therapist; she’s someone who truly invests in her patients’ recovery and quality of life.

Instant Relief

In early 2024, I was diagnosed with a bone spur in my right heel, which caused Achilles tendonitis. Faced with the option of a painful surgery and a lengthy recovery period, I decided to explore alternatives, as surgery and an eight-month recovery didn’t align with my lifestyle. I began with several weeks of physical therapy but saw little significant improvement. Next, I tried deep needling for six weeks, the maximum allowed. While I did notice some progress, I was still limping and experiencing noticeable pain. Then, I learned about Shockwave Therapy and the success reported by many patients. Although initially hesitant, I was open to trying anything to avoid surgery. I was thrilled to discover that Scarborough Physical Therapy offered this treatment, as I’d been a patient there before for another issue and had a great experience with the staff. For my initial consultation and treatment, I met June, whose expertise immediately reassured me. While the technique felt a bit unusual (unlike deep needling), it was completely pain-free. To my surprise, I felt instant relief and continued treatments for the full allowed duration. With each session, the pain diminished, and by the end of the recovery period, I was entirely pain-free. Now, nearly seven months later, I’m happy to say I’m walking and running normally—without surgery! Shockwave Therapy truly worked wonders. A huge thank you to June and Scarborough Physical Therapy for offering this incredible alternative healing option!

Amazing Professional

I can’t thank June Tait enough!  When I was referred for shockwave therapy, I was at the end of my rope and somewhat skeptical that I would ever find relief for my hip pain.  June is an amazing professional and explained everything to me in great detail. I am so happy with the results and can play with my grandchildren again! She will always be my angel!

A Transformative Experience

Starting Shockwave Therapy was truly a transformative experience for me! For two consecutive years, I experienced significant pain in both of my Achilles tendons, which not only made walking and standing difficult but also disrupted my sleep due to constant discomfort. As an active individual who enjoys running, the inability to participate in any sports was frustrating until I found June and her Shockwave Therapy Team. I had previously tried various treatments, including physical therapy, dry needling, electrical stimulation, and stretching, but none provided relief from my bilateral Achilles pain until I began Shockwave Therapy! Thanks to June and her high level of expertise in Shockwave, I’m finally pain-free and able to enjoy an active lifestyle again!

A Whole Lot Better Than Surgery

After being diagnosed with chronic Achilles tendonitis and being told I needed major surgery to try and fix my painful feet, I was told about Radial Pressure Therapy which sounded a whole lot better than surgery!! After 8 sessions, I can walk with minimal foot discomfort. I cannot say enough good things about shockwave therapy. It has made it possible for me to do the things that I love to do daily, like walking my dog, going for a walk, and just being able to be up and about. I feel free to go about my day without thinking of the impact on my feet. June Tait is always pursuing the latest developments in shockwave therapy. Whether it be more education classes, international conferences and clinics, she is always looking for the best cutting-edge technology.”

Pain Free for Over A Year

I had two cortisone injections for my rotator cuff tear and the next step that was recommended to me was surgery.  I was grateful to be introduced to shockwave therapy. I have been pain free for well over a year and back to participating in my favorite things without pain! And did not need surgery! I highly recommend Scarborough Physical Therapy and shockwave therapy. June and her team are highly knowledgeable about shockwave.

Back Playing Volleyball

The pain from plantar fasciitis of my left foot caused me to stop playing competitive volleyball and I had to greatly modify my fitness training and exercise. I heard about shockwave therapy and wanted to see if it could help. After 4 treatments, I was fully pain free! I am back playing volleyball and performing my full workouts including running! I am so happy with the results and would highly recommend shockwave therapy.
